I am extremely impressed with this authentic little restaurant!! From the delicious food to the warm, Guatemalan ambiance this place is a treasure! And the waitress was very nice, hospitable, and made my family and I feel very welcome when we visited Saturday afternoon. Even though the place was full of patrons, she never made us feel rushed. Highly recommend if you're looking for a piece of GUATEMALA here in California!!! Saludos from a fellow Chapina!!

This little place is around the corner from friends house. Nice that it's in easy walking distance.  We had the Antojitos Amalias which included: 3 taquitos, 1 Chunchito, 1 tamalito de chipilin. We also ordered the Yuca con Chicharron.  I LOVE yuca and this was yummy. The chicharron was little hard.  It was fried yuca and pork belly on salad.  Our last entree was the huge sampler plate Plato Amalias; carne Asada, carne adobada, chile relleno, Longanzina sausage(was so flavorful and different), guacamole, black beans and fried plantains.   All ws relish! Then the guys had to have dessert too. They got flan and Mollete(which is sweet bread filled with custard severed in sauce.  I had to take photos of the menu for this white girl to remember how to write this review!  The lack of one star is for the very slow service.  I think we were there 1 1/2 hours for lunch.  If you have time -enjoy!

I'm giving this place one star only for the decor and a friendly server /worker
We had lunch there and the food was not okay
    And the staff very unprofessional
Over cooked and a chewy meat it's not something you want to pay over $50 for two person
I don't care how big the plate is as a previous restaurant owner I know what a quality meat should taste like
Sorry but I have to let you know

I just randomly stumble into this place by accident on my way to home depot. The place had a nifty atmosphere and had specials for a every day M-F. I tried today's special that was pan con pollo with fries along with an agua fresca  pineapple. I have to say I was quite please with my meal, it was more than enough for me and quite inexpensive at that. I will be coming back to try their kaqik which is a more traditional Guatemalan dish. I do recommend stopping by to check this place out for their specials and traditional meal items. Parking was a bit nerve wrecking getting out since I have to pull out into the street from the spot because it was a small parking area. But looking forward returning here and trying more of their menu items.

    Low 4 but still a 4 :p

This is a really small Guatemalan restaurant in the middle of a ghetto neighborhood near Bob Hope airport (4 min away!) I wanted to go to a more popular restaurant next door called Salsa and Beer but it was too crowded and i didnt have much time before my flight so i tried this place out.

The parking spot is really tiny and really hard to get into. But there is parking, gotta be grateful for that in LA area lolol

The server did not know a single word in English so it was a little difficult to ask her stuff xD
And they didnt have beer!! i was sooo sad about this.

I wasnt a fan of their atmosphere but i did like their food for its price.

Antojitos Amalias ($15) Really big portion i could not finish it!!! But really pretty dish with different options here and there. I highly suggest this.

Carne Asada ($15) Big portion too. I didnt like this as much. The meat was kinda burnt and chewy. Come with fresh tortilla and veggies, beans, salsa.

Horchata ($2) It was a little different than what i would expect from a normal horchata but it definitely grew on me throughout the meal. It had grounded pumpkin seed in it too which made it even more interesting xD

I'm glad i got to try the place out but i dont think i would go back again.
